Constitution of the Circle of Legal Trust “C.O.L.T.”

1.) As a member of the Circle of Legal Trust you agree to adhere your conduct in accordance with our mission statement, rank and duty requirements below.  Hence, you consent to receiving assignments from our President, or any other member designated by the President to assign tasks.

2.) You will be expected to regularly participate in social media with the purpose of supporting and advancing the efforts of fellow Circle of Legal Trust members.

3.) All members must participate in actively posting quality, value adding content, along with endorsing and occasionally sharing the quality and helpful posts of fellow members. In accordance with our mission statement, it is the goal of this organization to improve the individual internet and social media presence of each respective lawyer/member, as well as improving the value of available online professional legal materials and information.

4.) You will be expected to participate (as schedule permits) in Google+ member hangouts that will occur once every two weeks at a designated time.  This is a meeting the is separate and apart from the “Circle of Legal Trust Hangouts” that occurs every Friday as hosted by Michael Ehline

5.) Each member is expected to actively engage in researching the latest trends in SEO, social media, and content drafting as it relates to attorneys and law firms  in order to facilitate the goals of this organization

6.) Members will receive assignments once every two weeks at our designated meeting.  The assignment will relate to topics and trends in SEO and social media.  Each member must draft an article/blog or create a presentation concerning the topic and relate the subject matter to marketing our individual law firms on the internet and through social media.

7.) Each member of the Circle of Legal Trust has been properly vetted for having the necessary attributes to advance the goals of the organization.  The President retains the ability to add and remove members based on merit and/or inability to maintain a commitment to advancing the mission of the Circle of Legal Trust.

8.) Each member understands they are entering a brotherhood and must remain selfless towards all other individual members.  We will often be required and expected to work together to assist individual members with problems they may encounter with marketing, social media, website issues or other difficulties related to SEO.

9.) Each member will be expected to attend an “annual retreat of the Circle of Legal Trust” that will be held at a designated time in Las Vegas, Nevada.  This will facilitate team building exercises, trust falls and breakout sessions.  Waivers can be granted on a case by case basis.

10.) Each member understands that not all members can attend meetings, and those members will make best efforts to attend, or contribute in another substantial way, upon proof to the Leadership.


1.) In this order: President, Originals, Sgt. At Arms, Intelligence/Development. Junior Officers.

a.) Chapters: Chapters are divided by city and can also be divided by state, on a case by case basis.

First in Time is First In Right

In general, first in time is first in right. If you are a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles, and that city has been staked first by another full patch member in the SAME practice area, the patched member decides whether or not to allow that hangaround into the Circle.

If you are a divorce attorney, for example, in that same city, you will be under the Chapter of the first full patched member of that territory. Waivers can be granted on a case by case basis. If there are lawyers in multiple practices, more than one city or practice waivers may be granted upon consideration of the President, or the Originals. In effect, a lawyer could have the whole state, or multiple city patches on the whitelist. (Click here.)

Ranking Structure:

1.) At least one attorney in the firm or law office must achieve all of these things to be a full patch member.

a.) Hangaround: Attends meetings, helps populate their practice areas on the site. Writes educational articles about their education in ethical search practices.

b.) Prospect: Eligible to guest speak at video hangouts and expected to continue in same duties as when a hangaround. Expected to recruit and help in examination of site architecture of new prospects and hangarounds. Expected to understand basic WordPress, or MoveAble Type, type Content Management Platforms. Basic to be defined as decided by the Originals, and/or President. Must master a particular facet of social, organic or local search.

c.) Full Patch: Receives full patch with city lower rocker and white listed on with his or her own whitelist profile. Continues on in locating resource material and writing educational articles on,, and continues citing to fellow trusted resources as resource materials. Expected to spearhead Chapters and speak at video hangouts.


1.) Non Attorney, or “Friend”: Although we are committed to attorney search, the backbone of C.O.L.T., is the consumer, outside search expert, and contributor. Although not eligible to be a full patch attorney, there are honorary attorney positions and equal rewards and responsibilities.

2.) Attorney: Attorneys who don’t have the ability to be members, can allow one staff member to act as a liaison, or go between. However, the President, and/or originals must have a line of communication with the managing attorney. Affiliates must also contribute in some meaningful way to the organization. However, non members must still agree to maintain their site architecture and quality rules under the C.O.L.T. standards, can still attend video hangouts, contribute to many of the various online and offline properties of C.O.L.T.


Currently there are no fees. At some point in the future, depending on the growth of the site, members may be asked to contribute. Currently you are encouraged to donate to the web developer. (Click here).
